Von meinem dreibeinigen Flusspferd und dem Nashorn mit abgebrochenen Schwanz habe ich bereits im playmoboard Forum berichtet. Jetzt möchte ich eine Methode vorstellen, wie man den Schwanz des Nashorns reparieren kann.
Als erstes muss man das Tier ablenken. Das macht man am Besten mit Essen. Tiere lieben essen, egal um welches Tier es sich dabei handelt. Während es also abgelenkt ist, bohrt man ein kleines Loch in den Schwanzstumpf bis hoch in den Rücken des Tieres. Weil es ein Dickhäuter ist, merkt es davon nichts; man braucht sich darüber also keine Sorgen machen. Nichtsdestotrotz sollte man darauf achten, dass man nicht aus Versehen aus dem Schwanz oder dem Rücken herausbohrt. Sollte dies dennoch passieren, sollte man seinen Ersten Hilfe-Koffer griffbereit haben (weil dadurch das Nashorn verletzt werden würde und danach Narben entstehen). In das Loch wird nun ein Draht gesteckt, der etwas dicker als das Loch selbst ist. Die Länge des Drahtes wird gemäß der Schwanzlänge eines Vergleichstieres angepasst, welches ebenfalls durch das Essen angelockt wurde. Der eigentliche Schwanz wird nun mit Zweikomponentenkleber um den Draht modelliert. Dieser Spezialkleber, welcher in seiner Ursprungsform recht ähnlich zu Knetmasse ist, wird so lange durchgeknetet, bis die beiden Komponenten völlig durchmischt eine homogene Masse darstellen. Aus dieser Masse wird der Schwanz modelliert. Allerdings sollte man dabei nicht langsam sein – die Masse trocknet recht schnell. Nachdem der Kleber ausgehärtet ist, kann man ihn schleifen und damit in die finale Form bringen. Letztendlich muss die Prothese noch entsprechend der Hautfarbe des Nashorns gestrichen werden.

I already mentioned my three-leged hippo and me broken-tailed rhino at the playmoboard forum. Now I want to show a method to fix the tail of the rhinoceros.
First of all you have to track away the attention of the animal from your plans. This is done in the best way by food. Animals like food, no matter what type of animal you are refering to. So while it is distracted you take a small drill and make a hole into the tail-stump deep up to the back of the animal. Because it is a pachyderm this procedure doesn't hurt the rhinoceros, so don't mind about it. Nevertheless take care that the hole remains inside the tail-stump and the back. For the case this still may happen keep your first-aid pack within reach (because this will hurt you rhino and will left over some scars). Now insert a wire into the whole which is slightly thicker than the hole itself so that it will stick well to the animal. Cut the length of the wire occording to the tail's length of a second rhinoceros, which is also attracted by the food. After the core of the new tail is set up, model the tail itself with two-component glue. This specific type of glue, which is in its basic form quite similiar to plasticine, has to be knead until both components are totally mixed and became one mass. With this mass you model the tail, but don't be slow — this mass drys fast. After the glue has hardened out you can abrade and polish it to get him the final shape and look. Finally the artificial limb has to be painted according to the rhino's complexion.
